The Aleppo chili pepper, also called Halaby or Turkish pepper, has a salty flavor with subtle notes of raisin, pomegranate and even sun-dried tomato. Though this pepper originates in the Syrian town of Aleppo, today we source it from a Turkish region just north of Aleppo. Use this chili pepper anywhere you would use the crushed red chili flake; add it to pasta, pizza, chili or anywhere you want to add a flavorful mild heat. These chiles average around 2,500-7,500 Scoville heat units.
Chiles, vegetable oil, salt.
Customers appreciate the flavorful complexity that these peppers bring to a variety of dishes. Their mild to medium heat and unique taste make them a versatile choice for everyday cooking, whether in stews, roasted vegetables, or sprinkled on snacks. Many have made this ingredient a staple in their pantries due to its ability to enhance flavors without overwhelming them.
