Green Cardamom Pods

Details
Whole cardamom pods are used in savory Indian and Middle Eastern recipes. Cardamom is used in its ground form in both Middle Eastern and Scandinavian baked goods. Since cardamom loses flavor quickly once ground, it is often preferable to buy the long-storing whole pods and grind only the amount needed for a recipe. While cardamom is indigenous to India, today much of it is commercially grown in Central America. Our cardamom comes to us from Tamil Nadu in India, which produces the world’s best cardamom.

These arrived packaged so beautifully and carefully to avoid breakage. The cardamom pods are of excellent quality. I used them to make masala chai. When I gently crushed them for the recipe they smelled so good! And added a great flavor to the chai.
Good spice…They toasted nicely for home-made curry powder
