This is the moment a young child had a lucky escape from death after falling onto railway tracks just as a train was approaching.
CCTV footage shows the young child walking with a male companion along the platform appearing to edge closer to the tracks in a bid to see a glimpse of the oncoming train.
But seconds later the child falls off the platform at Vangani Railway Station, west India, and onto the railway line.

The incident leaves the companion frozen in shock and afraid to approach the platform edge to help the minor as a train hurtles towards them.
Luckily a railway worker launched into action and can be seen racing towards the fallen child.
Mayur Shelke successfully pushed the child back onto the platform before lifting himself back up to safety, just seconds before before crushed to death by the train.

Another bystander can be seen racing to help the victim and his male companion.
It is believed nobody sustained injuries as a result of the incident.
