Donald Trump Jr. slams Liz Cheney, says Gov. Cuomo ‘would be in jail’ if GOP

Donald Trump Jr. on Friday trashed Rep. Liz Cheney and said New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo “would be in jail” already if he were a Republican.

The former first son attacked his dad’s political foes in a speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference, which the ex-president will address Sunday.

Trump Jr. nicknamed Cheney (R-Wyo.), who voted last month to impeach Trump, “Lincoln Project Liz,” associating her with the scandal-plagued group of anti-Trump Republicans.

“Liz Cheney and her politics are only slightly less popular than her father is at a quail hunt,” he said, joking about her former Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shooting a friend in the face with a shotgun.

“Liz Cheney, she hates Donald Trump and his policies because her family has a long history of friendly fire. But she also hates them because she’s tied to an establishment that has done nothing but fail us time and time again.”

He slammed Cuomo for his handling of COVID-19 in nursing homes and sexual harassment allegations from former aide Lindsey Boylan, who said this week that the Democrat kissed her on the lips without consent and suggested they play “strip poker.”

Trump Jr. said that the media under-covered the business relationships of Hunter Biden before the Nov. 3 election, but that it’s unsurprising because “we’ve been talking about Andrew Cuomo sentencing Nana to death for 10 months.”

“Imagine if [Florida Republica Gov.] Ron DeSantis did what Cuomo has done over the last couple years. He wouldn’t be getting an Emmy, he’d be in jail. Right? Credible accusations of harassment swept under the rug, verbal harassment swept under the rug, hiding evidence from the DOJ swept under the rug. No problem, give him an Emmy,” Trump Jr. said.

Remember Fredo?” he added, referring to Cuomo’s brother, CNN anchor Chris Cuomo.

“Where’s Fredo? He is so quiet these days. Why isn’t Fredo talking about these things right now? … You had no problem joking around with massive Q-Tips, making clowns of yourselves for months prior. That’s what we’re up against, folks.”

Cuomo spokesman Richard Azzopardi responded to the speech saying, “Consider the source.”

Trump Jr. also denounced President Biden as well for ordering the bombing of Syria on Thursday, saying, “who would have thought that within 33 days we’d be bombing the Middle East again? I would have. Oh no guys, come on, the military-industrial complex, I’m surprised it took them 33 days.”

He predicted that his father will give a memorable speech on Sunday in his first extended public remarks since leaving office on Jan. 20.

“I imagine it will not be what we call a low-energy speech, and I assure you that it will solidify Donald Trump and all of your feelings about the MAGA movement as the future of the Republican Party,” he said.

Cheney’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
