Trump rips ‘60 Minutes’ for not contacting him after Chris Krebs interview

President Trump blasted CBS’ “60 Minutes” for not contacting him for comment after interviewing the administration’s former cybersecurity chief, whom Trump fired earlier this month.

“@60Minutes never asked us for a comment about their ridiculous, one sided story on election security, which is an international joke. Our 2020 Election, from poorly rated Dominion to a Country FLOODED with unaccounted for Mail-In ballots, was probably our least secure EVER!,” the president wrote on Twitter Sunday night.

The news show interviewed Chris Krebs, former director of the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, who called the Nov. 3 election the “most secure” in US history.

Trump, who has launched legal challenges in a number of swing states where the results show President-elect Joe Biden the winner, fired Krebs on Nov. 17.

Krebs, who led CISA since 2017 and initiated a “Rumor Control” website this year to debunk claims of voter fraud, said “I stand by” the assessment that the presidential election was secure.

The president and his legal team have alleged that Dominion Voting Systems, which was used in Georgia and other states, deleted millions of votes.

Asked about the voting machines on “60 Minutes,” Krebs said Georgia’s hand recount of the votes shows “there was no malicious algorithm or hacked software that adjusted the tally of the vote.”

“That tells you that there was no manipulation of the vote on the machine count side,” Krebs continued. “And so that pretty thoroughly, in my opinion, debunks some of these sensational claims out there – that I’ve called nonsense and a hoax – that there is some hacking of these election vendors and their software and their systems across the country. It’s nonsense.”
