Ex-Accenture exec poised to be Wipro’s next CEO
Omar Abbosh, a former top executive at Accenture, is among the frontrunners for the CEO job at Wipro, according to sources interviewed by the India Times.
Abbosh was with Accenture for three decades and most recently ran its US$9bn communication, media, and technology business as chief executive. Other sources said Bhaskar Ghosh, advisor to Accenture CEO Julie Sweet, and Infosys deputy COO Ravi Kumar are also in the running for the Wipro post.
Within Wipro, Milan Rao, president, is also seen as a contender. Wipro’s top position opened up when CEO Abidali Neemuchwala announced his decision to leave on January 31, a year before his five-year term was set to end.
