PH sees security ties with US continuing under Biden
As US President-elect Joe Biden assumes office today, Malacañang is expecting that its relationship and security ties with the United States will continue, brushing aside claims that President Duterte has lost an ally with the defeat of Trump.
Further, the Philippines is upbeat about Biden’s plan to provide a path to citizenship to millions of illegal immigrants in the US. Recent reports state that there are about 300,000 undocumented Filipino immigrants in the US.
“When it comes to external relations, there is continuity when it comes to the United States,” presidential spokesman Harry Roque said at a press briefing on Monday.
