Majority of Baguio City’s new COVID-19 cases traced to call centers
One hundred eighteen (118) new COVID-19 cases were reported in Baguio on Wednesday, with many of the cases being linked to employees of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firms and call centers in the city.
Employees of the BPO firms are now being isolated, as workplace tests confirmed that many of the new recorded infection cases came from these facilities.
The Philippines’ contact-tracing czar and Baguio City mayor Benjamin Magalong said he expected the rise in the number of cases due to their contact tracing efforts.
